JobRad and SC Freiburg are expanding their partnership. The Germany-wide market leader in company bike leasing will become the new main kit sponsor of the Bundesliga club. The partnership will begin from the 2023/24 season.
JobRad became the exclusive mobility partner of SC Freiburg in the summer of 2022, but after just half a year of working together, both parties have agreed to significantly expand their successful cooperation. From the start of the 2023/24 season, JobRad will become the new main sponsor and kit sponsor of SC Freiburg and will subsequently become the club’s biggest partner. A central feature of the cooperation will be the sponsorship of SC Freiburg’s shirts for all Bundesliga matches. JobRad will also be the shirt sponsor of the Freiburg U23s, as well as the sleeve sponsor of the SC Freiburg women.
As the new main sponsor, JobRad will receive a comprehensive advertising, hospitality and communication package. In addition, JobRad will remain the mobility partner of SC Freiburg and both parties will continue to break new ground. Together with the first team, the women’s team and the Freiburg Football School, various projects are planned around bicycles, e-bikes, sustainable transport and service bike leasing, which will be used to appeal to football and cycling enthusiasts alike.
Board member, Oliver Leki, welcomes the new partnership with JobRad: “We are delighted that we have been able to acquire such an attractive and high-performing main sponsor in JobRad. JobRad are not only Germany’s market leader in company bike leasing with operations in other countries, it is also an excellent fit for SC Freiburg, with its commitment to sustainable mobility, its roots in the cycling city of Freiburg, its value framework and its attractive appearance.”
“Over the last six months, as SC Freiburg’s exclusive mobility partner, we have gained a sense of how well we fit together in our cooperation. It is no coincidence that SCF are considered one of the most sustainable professional football clubs in the world and similarly to JobRad, they are in a real phase of growth. It was therefore an easy decision to commit to becoming the club’s new main sponsor and kit sponsor. In SC Freiburg, we have a partner that shares our core values and has an equally strong sense of the importance of sustainability,” explains JobRad’s managing director, Florian Baur.
JobRad’s founder and board member, Ulrich Prediger, is also delighted with the new partnership: “JobRad and SC Freiburg are a great match. Both parties always think about things differently and follow their own path. SC Freibrurg were the first Bundesliga club to choose a main sponsor from within the cycling industry and JobRad were the first to introduce the company bike. We will combine as partners to pool our national appeal and we will together create more awareness for climate friendly trade, green transport and sustainability, for all football and cycling fans both in Freiburg and across Germany.”
JobRad GmbH is the market leader in company bike leasing and has been getting people cycling for over ten years. JobRad, which was founded in Freiburg in 2008 by Ulrich Prediger, organises the leasing of company bikes from employers to employees in an uncomplicated and cost effective way via an easy-to-use digital portal. Employees choose their desired bike with either a specialist dealer or online and all brands and manufacturers are available. The employer then leases the bike and makes it available to the employee for personal and private use. Should the employee wish to purchase the bike, they can do so via salary conversion and benefit from a tax incentive (the 0.25% rule) and can save up to 40% of the cost of a regular purchase. An employer-financed JobRad is tax free for the employee. Over 50,000 employers with over 5 million employees (such as Bosch, SAP, Deutsche Bahn) use JobRad as a sustainable transport solution in order to attract talent, keep their employees fit and help protect the environment.
