The DFB have scheduled SC Freiburg’s DFB-Pokal semi-final away to Hamburger SV for Tuesday, 19th April.

Cup semi-final away in Hamburg

SC Freiburg will travel to the Volksparkstadion for the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal after Sunday evening’s draw at the German Football Museum pitted Christian Striech’s side against Hamburger SV. The tie will be play on either 19th or 20th April.

SC Freiburg ended a busy three-game week unbeaten; a hard-fought 1-1 draw away to RB Leipzig saw Freiburg add another point to their tally for the season. Ermedin Demirovic had put Freiburg ahead in the first half (38’) before Angelino scored a late equaliser for Leipzig (90’).

The DFL have announced the dates and kick-off times for some of the final matches of the 2021/22 Bundesliga season. SCF will welcome FC Bayern München to the Europa-Park-Stadion on matchday 28 on a Saturday afternoon.

Last-minute winner to reach cup semis

SC Freiburg are into the DFB-Pokal semi-finals for the second time in their history. Extra time was needed in Wednesday’s quarterfinal tie against VfL Bochum, but Roland Sallai’s 120th-minute goal ensured a 2-1 victory. Nils Petersen’s opener (51’) had been cancelled out by Sebastian Polter (64’) in normal time.
