Freiburg’s training camp in Schruns is up and running! Montafon will be SC’s home until 15th July as the players continue their pre-season preparations.
The SC team bus arrived in Schruns on Wednesday evening. The 29-strong squad were around 90 minutes late and the “coffee and cake” session had to be cancelled. As such, the players went straight onto their bikes in order to explore their new surroundings. All of the players who were away on international duty are present, as well as newcomers Ritsu Doan, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh and Matthias Ginter. Vincent Vermeij from the U23s is also included. Over the next ten days, the team will work on getting up to speed for the upcoming Bundesliga season and the for the Europa League campaign. The players will be looking to build on last season in the stunning Alpine scenery.
SCF will be put through their paces on Saturday, when they face Swiss Super League side FC St. Gallen in a friendly (15:00 CEST). Peter Zeidler’s side are also working on getting up to speed for the new season and recently earned a 1-1 draw against AS Monaco.
