Goalkeeper Benjamin Uphoff will head into his fourth season with SC, after extending his contract with the club.
Benjamin Uphoff joined SC in 2020 from Karlsruher SC and has been a regular figure in the club’s goalkeeping set-up since then. The 29-year-old has featured five times for the club in the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal combined.
“Benni is a solid presence within our trio of goalkeepers and is an important figure in our team, both on a sporting and personal level,” said sporting director Klemens Hartenbach. “It’s a good feeling for us to know that Benni, along with his character and reliability, will continue to be part of our team.”
“The last three years in Freiburg have seen us celebrate many big achievements on the pitch with the team and a lot of hard work within our goalkeeping team,” said Uphoff. “I feel like I’m in the right place here and want to do my path to help the team continue to grow and develop. I’m always ready when needed.”
As usual, details of the contract extension will not be released.
