The right-back is going into his eighth year in the Bundesliga with Freiburg.
Lukas Kübler has made 12 competitive appearances this season, scoring four goals. In total, the 30-year-old, who joined the club in 2015 from SV Sandhausen, has made 118 appearances in a Freiburg shirt.
“Lukas has been injury-free for a long time now and has impressively shown during this time period what he is all about,” said chairman Jochen Saier. “He has worked hard on himself in these years together and continually furthered his development. So, we are very pleased that we can continue to plan on utilising his power, his strength in duels and his footballing problem-solving.”
Lukas Kübler himself said: "I am fit, can throw everything at it and have learnt to appreciate this situation. Working with the boys everyday is a real pleasure and the current competition for a place in the team drives me on. We are on the right path, and I have a lot of ambition to continue on this path.”
It has been agreed that the content of the contract will remain undisclosed.
