The Deutsche Fußball-Liga (DFL) has today released the schedule for the 2023/24 Bundesliga season. SC Freiburg will open their campaign away at TSG Hoffenheim, before welcoming SV Werder Bremen to the Europa-Park Stadion for their first home game.
SC will begin preparations for the 2023/24 season on 10th July. The competitive season will begin on 13th August with the first-round DFB-Pokal clash against SV Oberachern, with Christian Streich’s side travelling to Sinsheim the following weekend for their Bundesliga season opener (19th/20th August).
Matchday 2 will see SC host SV Werder Bremen (25th-27th August) before travelling to VfB Stuttgart (1st-3rd September. The following week will be the first international break of the season, with league action resuming on 12th September with a home game against Borussia Dortmund (12th-14th September).
The first half of the season will end on the weekend of 12th-14th January 2024, with SC hosting Union Berlin. The final matchday of the season will be on 18th May 2024.
The exact timings for each fixture will be confirmed by the DFL at a later date.
