The fixtures will take place between the 16th and 19th August 2024, with SC Freiburg’s first round tie against VfL Osnabrück scheduled for Saturday, 17th August (15:30 CEST) at the Stadion an der Bremer Brücke.

Osnabrück were relegated from the 2. Liga after finishing 18th in the most recent campaign, and will therefore compete in the third division in the upcoming season. The two sides faced off against each other in the second round of the DFB-Pokal in October 2021, which ended in a Freiburg victory after the match went to penalties.

After former SCF forward Nils Petersen completed the draw for the first round, he remarked: “That will be a tough game, so I won’t be receiving too many happy messages from those in Freiburg.”
