A total of 10 SC Freiburg players will be away representing Austria, Hungary, Kosovo, Japan, Turkey, the Germany U21s and the France U21s and U20s during the upcoming international break in September.

Four players will be taking part in the UEFA Nations League with their countries. Junior Adamu has been included in Austria’s squad to face Sovenia and Norway. Florent Muslija and Kosovo have two fixtures against Romania and Cyprus to look forward to, while Eren Dinkci has been included in Turkey’s senior squad for the first time ahead of their matches against Wales and Iceland.

After having been eliminated in the group stages of EURO 2024 this past summer, Roland Sallai and Hungary will face Germany in Düsseldorf in their opening Nations League fixture.

Ritsu Doan and Japan will enter into the third round of qualifying for the World Cup, with games against China and Bahrain. The Samurai Blue had come top of their group having earned six wins from six games in the second round of qualifying, finishing above North Korea, Syria and Myanmar.

Max Rosenfelder and Merlin Röhl have been included in the Germany U21s squad for their U21 EURO qualifiers. The team are still unbeaten in six games (5 wins, 1 draw) and are now looking to extend this run against Israel and Estonia. Kiliann Sildillia and the France U21s will come up against current group leaders Slovenia U21s as part of their qualifying campaign.

Two more SC players have also been called up by the Switzerland U20s, with Bruno Ogbus and Johan Manzambi in the squad for both friendlies against France U20s.

The players that will be remaining in Freiburg will use the international break for a friendly behind closed doors against FC Basel on Friday (12:00 CEST).
