Bruno Ogbus arrived at the Freiburg academy from Grasshopper Club Zurich’s youth set-up in January 2022, initially drafted into the U19 team. He then made his senior debut as a 17-year-old last November in a third-tier clash away to Dynamo Dresden. These days, the Swiss left-sided player is part of the first team and started the DFB-Pokal away tie against VfL Osnabrück. He has also made two appearances so far in the current Bundesliga campaign and plays for Switzerland’s U20 national side.

“Bruno caught our attention after a great season with the U19s as well as with his displays for the second team last year. He has continued to develop after a seamless transition into the first team during pre-season,” said sporting director Klemens Hartenbach. “His tough tackling and speed are really impressive, and his versatility across the back line is a real asset. We hope to be able to assist his development together going forward.”

The details of the contract extension will remain undisclosed.
