SC can confirm that Hugo Siquet has left the club to join Belgian champions Club Brugge.

Hugo Siquet signed for SC in January 2021 from Standard Liège and went on to play three times for the club in the Bundesliga and twice in the UEFA Europa League. The right-back moved on loan to Cercle Brugge during the 2022 winter break and played 51 games for them in the Jupiler Pro League. After returning to the club for the start of pre-season, the 22-year-old has now signed for record Belgian champions and Champions League outfit Club Brugge on a permanent basis.

“We decided together after lengthy discussions to give Hugo the chance to join Club Brugge,” said sporting director Klemens Hartenbach. “We would like to thank Hugo, whose behaviour has always been exemplary, for his commitment and wish him all the best back home in Belgium.”

Details of the transfer will remain undisclosed.
