Max Rosenfelder joined SC’s academy from SFE Freiburg in 2014 at the age of 11 and went on to play for all of the club’s youth sides. The Freiburg-born defender made his Bundesliga debut in the 3-1 win over VfB Stuttgart on matchday 1 of this season and played the full 90 minutes that day. Overall, the 21-year-old has made 11 appearances for the first team in 2024/25. He also currently plays for Germany U21s.

“This is what we all hoped would happen in the summer: Max has stayed fit – there were never any doubts about his abilities as a footballer. It’s great when patience and confidence in one another are rewarded,” said board member for sport Jochen Saier. “As well as his dynamism and good understanding of the game, Max has already shown real maturity and composure on the pitch. We’re confident that we’ll enjoy a number of great moments together still.”

Max Rosenfelder commented: “I was born in Freiburg and have been an SC fan since I was four years old, so I’ve got no doubts about this being the right place for me. After a difficult last season for me personally, I’m simply happy to be fit and getting minutes. I will try to keep going and I’ll work hard to help us continue to be successful.”
