23-year-old attacker Noah Weißhaupt has joined newly promoted Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli on loan until the end of the season.
Weißhaupt joined the Freiburg Football School as an 11-year-old and worked his way through the club's youth setup. He was part of the U23 side that secured promotion to the 3. Liga in 2021 and made his Bundesliga debut in that same year. The winger has gone on to make 78 competitive appearances for SC to date, scoring two goals.
"Noah should be playing regular football and testing himself at the highest level, not just for him, but for the future with us," said board member Jochen Saier. "These six months at St. Pauli give him the opportunity to achieve that."
There will be familiar faces in Hamburg for Weißhaupt, with three former SC players at the club in the form of Robert Wagner, Philipp Treu and Carlo Boukhalfa. SC Freiburg would like to wish Noah all the best at the Millerntor!
