SC have taken the opportunity that the international break poses to schedule a friendly match against FC Basel for Friday, to be played behind closed doors (kick-off 12:00 CEST).
Basel have racked up ten points after their opening six games of the new Swiss Super League season under the guidance of head coach Fabio Celestini, who has been in the role since October 2023. Over the summer, they gained a top player in their ranks with the return of Xherdan Shaqiri to the club. After developing in Basel’s youth set-up, he went on to play for Bayern München, Inter, Liverpool, and most recently Chicago Fire.
