In our interview of the week, Roland Sallai speaks to us about an eventful three-game week, the closing stages of the Bundesliga season and the DFB-Pokal final in Berlin.

It was almost the perfect week. After the home win against Bochum and reaching the DFB-Pokal final, a home victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach was snatched away from us in the last minute. SC Freiburg will host Borussia Mönchengladbach on matchday 31 in the Bundesliga this weekend. The match at a sold-out Europa-Park Stadion will kick off at 15:30 CEST on Saturday.

SC Freiburg have reached the final of the DFB Pokal for the first time in the club’s history. Freiburg beat Hamburger SV 3-1 in the semi-final on Tuesday with goals from Nils Petersen, Nicolas Höfler and Vincenzo Grifo.

On Tuesday evening, SC Freiburg will take on Hamburger SV in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal (20:45 CEST). The match will take place in front of a soldout crowd, with Freiburg selling out their allotment as well.

Freiburg began their busy week with an impressive 3-0 win over VfL Bochum. Lukas Kübler gave SC the lead in the fifth minute, before a Roland Sallai brace (16', 53') gave the Freiburg fans an afternoon to remember.

SC Freiburg are set to host VfL Bochum at the Europa-Park Stadion on matchday 30 in the Bundesliga (Saturday, 15:30 CEST). The match will mark the start of a busy week for SCF, with three games in just seven days.

SC Freiburg were extremely clinical and also slightly fortunate to win 2-1 away at Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday. Vincenzo Grifo opened the scoring in the 27th minute, before Filip Kostic cancelled that out in the second half (54’). Substitute Nils Petersen scored the winning goal in the 69th minute for the visitors.

SC Freiburg lost their first sold-out home match against FC Bayern München 4-1. Nils Petersen scored shortly after coming on to net an equaliser for SCF (63’). FC Bayern’s goalscorers were Leon Goretzka (58’), Serge Gnabry (73’), Kingsley Coman (83’) and Marcel Sabitzer (90’+6).
