Nils Petersen has tested positive for Covid-19.
In adherence with the measures set forth by the health authorities, Petersen will have to quarantine until 30th March. All other first-team player tests came back negative.
The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) has also expanded its hygiene concept. As of 1st April, if a region records more than 35 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants per week, clubs must conduct rapid antigen tests on all players, coaches and backroom staff prior to each training or travel day. As a result, the already strict testing programme at Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs has been further expanded upon. Contact, in adherence with all hygiene and contact regulations currently being enforced under the medical/hygiene concept, will only be allowed once a negative rapid antigen test result has been recorded.
There have also been no changes to the requirement of a minimum of two PCR tests per calendar week, no further than five days apart, when the incident rate is returning 35 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. Also unchanged is the requirement that the home team’s last round of testing dates back no earlier than 36 hours and the away team’s last round of testing to no earlier than 52 hours prior to kick-off.
