SC Freiburg face a trip to VfL Osnabrück for the second round of the DFB-Pokal. The game at Bremer Brücke will be played on 26th October at 20:45 CEST.
The side relegated from the second division last season are currently eighth in the 3. Liga after six games. SCF’s last encounter with Osnabrück is some years ago: 2008/09 in the Bundesliga 2, when Daniel Schwaab, Julian Schuster, Vitali Rodionov and Tommy Bechmann scored in a 4-1 win for Freiburg. From a total of 24 second-tier encounters there have been ten SCF wins, seven draws and seven defeats.
Former academy player Felix Higl is the only player with an SCF past now on the books at Osnabrück. Exactly one month after the cup game, Osnabrück will face the SCF reserves in the league on either 27th or 28th November.
