The start of the 2018/19 season was no ordinary one for Lars Voßler. With coach Christian Streich unable to take charge due to back problems, the former IT specialist at SC Freiburg took over the reins for the first two matches of the Bundesliga campaign. That Christian Streich is able to fully rely on his assistant coach is down to the fact that the two have worked closely together for such a long time. Streich and Voßler have been working alongside each other since taking over the SC first team back in 2012 and even before then had worked together as coaches of the Freiburg U19s.
