Kevin Schade has been having one experience after another recently: first his Bundesliga debut, then his first start. The 19-year-old was promoted to the first team from the Under 23s along with five other youth players. In an interview, he spoke about the last few weeks, his personal background and the final home game at the Dreisamstadion.

On Thursday, Freiburg beat Swiss first-division side FC Zürich in a friendly. Having been down 2-0 at the break, the team rallied to win 3-2 thanks to a goal from Manuel Gulde and two from Nils Petersen.

The DFL announced the exact date and kick-off times for Bundesliga matchdays 7 to 13 of the 2021/22 season on Thursday. SC Freiburg are to play six times on a Saturday and once on a Sunday during this period.

SC Freiburg face a trip to VfL Osnabrück for the second round of the DFB-Pokal. The game at Bremer Brücke will be played on 26th October at 20:45 CEST.
